Two from tonight

Well tonight I started off with the Bodes pair.

Shot 51 3 minuet subs at ISO 800 using the 127mm Helios frac and the unmoded 350 D.

The wind played havoc with the scope and I ended up with just 17 usable subs.

5 Darks

Stacked in DSS

Processed in PH6

I then moved on to M51 but had to scrap the entire session as I ended up with no usable subs due to the wind rocking the scope.

At 4 oclock this morning I decided to have a go at a new target for me.

Inspired by Andy's photo I had a crack at the Leo Trips.

Still using the Helios frac and the 350 D

!7 usable 3 min subs at ISO 800.

These are all brighter than you think when trying to image them - so judging the sub length and saturation is difficult. But a great effort Graham with good results. I can see the wind had died down a bit by the time you got on the Leo Triplet :)

Pat -- cheers mate with your gear I think I would only sleep when it was raining.

Kim -- Your right it did come as a bit of a shock how bright they got when I stretched them.

The wind had died down but the damage had already been done,

The constant rocking by the wind has created a massive amount of backlash in my mount.

Mr T, Doc -- I am pleased with how they turned out.

Andy -- They are brilliant, I probably need to go back and reprocess these now I have had some sleep.

Just go easy on the initial stretch as it brings out the horizontal banding.

I get far to keen to see results too.

Good advice there Andy.

I normally post process in DSS before I move on to PS 6.

I will try it straight in PS6 from the auto save.
