Just a quick one to say Hi,

Really hoping to progress and get into AP this year, I currently have a 200p on EQ5, just trying to decide whether to buy Dual Motors or take the plunge and upgrade my Mount/Set up......

anyway. whichever way i decide to go i hope to come along to a local meet and get some much needed help + meet some like minded enthusiasts.

all the best.

Scott.

If you are dead keen on AP then the mount is really important so upgrade to a HEQ5 or better still a NEQ6.

You are more then welcome to come to one of our meets, just keep an eye on these boards.

And btw welcome to EMS.

Hi Scott.

Welcome to EMS. I don't know anything about AP as I only currently do visual. Best of luck and enjoy the forums

Hi Scott and welcome.

Re 200p and EQ5, that's the set up I have been using, and also I have used a tiny st80 on the eq5. The 200p on the eq5 is pushing it a lot for AP, but it is possible. I managed to get mine to 90 secs unguided just using the single motor drive. It's not easy, but it will do it. If you think AP might be what you would like to do, try it with what you have for now and see if you like it. The best bet is to upgrade to either a HEQ5 or NEQ6, but up to around 90 seconds you should be fine if you put some graft in, at least to get a feel for things anyway :)

Hi Scott and a warm welcome to EMS. :)

It would be great to meet you at our dark sites - so feel free to come and get a feel for the group and get some hands on help - we've got quite a few terrific imagers in the group now.

Meantime enjoy the forum and if you've any questions just pop a thread up in the relevant section and someone will be along with an answer soon. :)

Hi Scott, a warm welcome to EMS.

You would be very welcome to come to the next meet, when the weather decides to give us a bit of clear sky that is. In the meantime, any questions you have, post them in the Beginner section and they will be answered in a short time.

Enjoy the forum.  :)

Hi Scott, welcome to EMS.  :)  Which part of Burton are you in?  We're in Horninglow, lovely and dark lol.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I live off Wetmore road right at the bottom on the new(ish) estate.  Not too bad down here - we back onto fields so quite good seeing.

Just down the road from us then.  Your viewing sounds loads better than ours, as we live on a corner without a back garden - only a small front one, we can see no less than 7 street lights from it.  We've obviously chosen the most suitable hobby for our location lol.
