If the mirrors on a newtonian are out will you get any sort of image in the eyepiece ? Ive only ever used refractors before and I cant get my newt to focus.

You need to collimate your newt, basically line up the primary and secondary mirrors. If they are way out then your image will look terrible but you should still get an image of some sort.

There are plenty of tutorials on collimation but the best one is here:

Ive done all that mick but cant focus the scope, thinking of trying a laser collimater ?
