M38 from tonight 09/01/2013

Recommended Posts

Decided to try something different tonight, a Star cluster.

So after a hunt through the available clusters I settled on M38.

It was its colour that made me choose it.

I don't know if it was atmospherics but it looked so Blue.

Anyway I managed to grab just 45 subs before the temperature suddenly plummeted and the fog rolled in.

After sorting through I ended up with 33 usable subs.

Helios 200 Newt.

Cannon 350 D unmodded.

33 60 second subs at ISO 800.

Best 90% Stacked in DSS.

Cleaned and polished in PS6.

That looks lovely Graham. Lots of colours.

The smaller cluster is NGC1907.

Even better I love these 2 for 1 offers

Thanks for the info Pete, NGC 1907 another one I can cross off the list.

Nice clusters the Auriga set of three, now if you like 2 for 1 offers take a look at M35 just a little further east in Gemini

Cheers Phil I will take a look next clear sky.
