Tonight was looking a little iffy weather wise, with clouds looming. It did clear for a bit then again the clouds rolled in again. But about 7.30 ish the skies cleared and the sky was fantastic.

Tonight, myself, Ron, Dave and Paul were all present, and we were also joined by Owain from Conningsby, four really nice folks from Sleaford way and Andy decided to join us later on.We were also joined by the reserve warden and his family.

Tonight we were observing Jupiter and the air was really steady at times giving some wonderful high magnification views.

We were able to see the flame nebula with my 8 inch Helios newt, it was ghostly but it was there. M42 was looking wonderful tonight and we could even make out the E and F stars in the Trapezium in M42 through my newt.

Myself and Paul did some Jupiter images which i am sure we will post later. We also showed our guests how to capture and process Jupiter images.

Ron was imaging with his newly modded camera and the results were impressive. I managed to do some imaging too.

The skies were fantastic tonight but by 10 pm it had clouded over but overall it was a really enjoyable evening and my only regret is that we did not get more time before it clouded over.

Thanks to all those that attended, you all made it a great night.

Thanks for the use of your scope Mark, I'm going to process the AVI's I captured on the desktop computer because when I upload from the laptop the images have a yellow tint

My Pleasure Paul, never a problem. Hope they turn out as good as the first image you did. Loads of detail.

It's a shame the cloud rolled in as I rolled up to Gib point, but it was good to catch up. I like the images you managed to get last night and Mark it would be good next time if you can bring down the laptop, and pass on the knowledge again.
