I found it made a difference, not huge, but it certainly helped. Flocking makes the biggest difference IMO.

Darkening won't help CA (that's down the to the glass itself,) there's little to nothing you can do about that which won't cost more than buying a better scope.


 


As mike says though, flocking will improve contrast.

I blackened the edges of the lenses of mine and flocked the tube, but as I did both at the same time, can't say which was the most beneficial. 


 


This may be useful if you've haven't seen it already

Sorry, yes, meant to say that :facepalm: both mods will help with contrast and help stop unwanted reflections within the scope it's self.
