One of our network equipment vendors has notified us that they have patched a serious bug in their firmware and as such we will be installing this patch on our core network today and tomorrow.We will begin by patching our border routers in the Telehouse North (THN) and LDeX1 data centres this evening (05/02/2013) between 21:00 and 23:59. This work should not be service affecting for any client due the redundant nature of our network design. We will then be patching the core switches in the LDeX1 data centres tomorrow evening (06/02/2013) between 21:00 and 23:59. This work will be service affecting for some clients, however we will endeavour to minimise any disruption as much as possible. We are anticipating up to 15 minutes of downtime for the affected clients in the LDeX1 data centres whilst each of the core switch stacks are rebooted. Clients who are connected to both of the switch stacks should see minimal disruption whilst their connections failover. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused by this emergency work as well as the short notice. This maintenance is essential for the ongoing stability of your service.
