Anyone want to offer an explanation to what this is ?

Hi all.

When I was going through my subs from M1 tonight I came across this one.

It is a single 250 second sub.

The bright flash you can see is not an aircraft as there are no trails in or out.

It is pure white light as well no colour.

All suggestions welcomed.

Couldn't tell you the numbers (there are a few and they are regular events) but unplanned and just happening to be in your FOV ... pretty low I think :)

These new flying saucers are getting more streamlined :D .

Like Stephen says just a satellite momentarily glinting back some sunshine.

If it was at about 20.50pm this evening, it was probably Cosmos 1844.

If you want more;

It was about 900km away when you snapped it and comes around every 102 minutes.

Soviet ELINT (Electronic and Signals Intelligence) satellite launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome aboard a Zenit 2 rocket in 1987.

I like names and numbers ;) .
