i`m delighted with what has come out of my first proper image using the Canon 1100d.

this data was with only 20, 2 minute subs and 20, 2 minute darks.

was very cold and struggled with dew badly but great fun and thanks to Noel for his help with the software which was all new to me.

equipment used was my Starwave 80 scope which was unguided,

Canon 1100d with a fitted Astronomik CLS filter,

APT software to control the camera.

all stacked in deep sky stacker and alittle level clipping in Photoshop.

nothing else done as i don`t know what i`m doing properly with Photoshop.

now with 20 added flats and 20 dark flats,

now with raw files stacked, still can`t get any colour coming through.

think i`ve added some noise to it image also.

this is my last attempt to get more out of the processing, i`ve managed to download a DNG converter program which allows you to adjust the cr2 raw files and convert them so that they can be stacked in Photoshop.

not 100% it`s made much differance, but it was nice to adjust the histogram in the Raw cr2 files before stacking them.

heres the final image.

Great image. Looks very professional. The stars are remarkably sharp given its not guided. Well done. Can't wait to see what you can achieve under better conditions.

Thanks Allan,

It's taken me longer to process the images than it did to take them l.o.l.
