More Testing

We're still trying to diagnose an intermittent fault on the website so will need to disable all add-ons again, for a short time, to allow the testing to take place.

I'll try to keep the disruption to a minimum but expect the forum to reduce to basic functionality either tonight or tomorrow.

I'm hopeful this will be the last time.

Thanks :)

The Shoutbox will be re-enabled at 9:30am this morning (or shortly after).

We're re-enabling the add-ons one by one, so as this is the most important one for us it will be the first to go back online.

How are the shakes? :D:lol:

Hi Craig,

I know your probably busy, but just wondered what the intermittent faults were.

I haven't noticed anything wrong, anything I can look for to help.

Cheers

Martin

A lot of websites have to be HTML5 to display web pages correct on Apple devices. Oh and flash which lets face it Android is a far better platform for this.

Not taking a side as I appreciate both platforms - however the HTML5 comment is wrong I'm afraid, and Flash is a dead technology. Adobe have pulled all development on it ... many moons ago.

Of course you realise it's a software limitation, yes? :P:lol:

It's an intermittent bug that only affects very specific member groups at present. It's something that could potentially be ignored given it's such a small number of users, but as I don't know the cause I don't want to risk this expanding to affect more users when we next upgrade or make a change.

The bug results in a "this page cannot be found" error when accessing the forum, normally when having been away from the forum for more than a couple of hours. Most of you won't have noticed the error. :)

I thought you and perky were hard wired into here anyway.

If only, I wouldn't have to take my eyes of the shout box when I went for a thinking stick then :D
