Dance of the planets

After a quick nudge from twitter I thought I'd try and have a quick look for the 3 amigos (Jupiter, Venus, Mercury) at sunset.

It's always the case. when something cool is going on, somebody has always built a house in the way, or a fully leafed tree, or something always obscures my view from home.

Might get time to head out in the car and take a few snaps from somewhere higher up.

Cheers all

Sorted!!

Having a family holiday in Whitby, and on arriving at the apartment I started thumbing thought Fridays Whitby Gazette. Great! The Whitby astro society have organised a star party not 10 mins walk away! So at 9:30 I trundled up to the 'whale bones' and saw a nice looking dob, a CPUs of newts and some sort of Helios refractor. 20 mins later I'd bagged my first ever sight of mercury, and even better, saw all three planets in my 9x60 bins. Then moonrise close to Whitby Abbey. I'm sure, that of Count Dracula himself rose up from the Abbey, nobody would have been surprised. Talk about stereotypical.

A great evening.
