I saw these being used on Stargazing Live last week.

Anyone got one? I guess they could be really useful if used very carefully?

Does £15 delivered sound reasonable for one?

I was going to put this thread in Astronomy Equipment but it didn't really fit any of the sub topics so this will have to do...! Craig, maybe we could have Astronomy Equipment 'Everything else' section?

Thanks, Dan

i think they could be very usefull, but they don`t like you using them at starpartys because of imagers, and aircraft pilots tend to report when people use them, there is a you tube video showing how you can turn off street lights with them, but i`ve never tried it myself but would love to have a go.

They are if used with care, useful for pointing things out in the sky. Just be careful there are no aircraft in the area, particularly anything called Hotel India!

Our cats like them!

I have one but it was a b'day pressie so not for sale. They're useful for groups of newbies - I'll be bringing mine on Saturday.

As Martyn says though - must be used responsibly :)

using them on street lights is responsable isn`t it ? as long as you don`t blow them up, your doing the council a favour and saving them money
