Did a bit of work in the obs today in the sunshine so made the most of it and stuck a telescope on the mount and had a quick shot of the sun. Pleasant surprise with loads of activity.


 


Full disc through the WO FLT98 with the Atik 314l in mono binned x2. Filters were IR cut, Contrast Booster and red. Individual subs 0.001 sec and approx. 100 subs stacked in Registax. Tweaked in Registax and Photoshop given false colour as well


 


Processed in sunlight whilst watching the tennis so didn't give it my full attention, will try and redo it tonight when I don't have so many reflections on the screen and I can give it a bit more attention

That's beautiful Phil...i would be well proud of that. I'd like to do a bit of sun gazing with the dob but am not sure how...never looked into it but feel like i'm missing out lately.

Just give me a shout matey, I've got astrocookies solar filter for my 130, aperture doesn't matter for solar, I'll gladly pop round at the weekend if you fancy a look.
