Guest dawson Posted August 3, 2013 Share Posted August 3, 2013 Peter, I've just ordered a copy of the photographic star one too on your advice, and as I've got and love the images in the planet version by Cambridge and have the 1980s edition, I just saw a newer edition of that for £2.50 second hand so ordered that too! Tweedledee Posted August 3, 2013 Share Posted August 3, 2013 My favourite atlases are the S&T Pocket and the Cambridge Photographic. The S&T will be fine outside in the damp at night, but keep the Cambridge indoors. My S&T has been soaked in dew on several occasions and the pages have not crinkled and are just like new. Pages and pages of widefield images of the sky, and opposite the photo (which is between A4 and A3 in size) is an illustrated diagram of the field of view opposite. The photos are simply Georges, and crystal clear.
