These Vixen LV's have to be returned because of visible debris. The one on the right is already a replacement! I thought third time lucky; no chance.

Looks like I'm staying with the Meadetrons.

Isn't the 2" the mega-bucks version ?

Or is that something else all together ?

Bear in mind focusing may be a challenge with one of those 2" Amici's.

Bad luck on the vixens I have 2 LV zooms, no probs in either, Ive had one about 10 years and the other 1 year

Yeah, I was unlucky. I wanted them for lunar viewing so any debris would be noticeable.

Yes, it's a lot of squid. I have one of the 'cheap' (200 squid) Baader Amici's and it focuses in everything. I have an APM which focuses in everything but my 72ED.

So I know there can be problems, although it's usually with fast, short tube refractors. It should be OK in my Starwave (f/7) or ED80.

Are you sure you have enough diagonals ?? 😉

I've been very impressed with my own Baader Amici (it's not the megabucks version)

I think I've been going on a diagonal spree lol. The 2" Baader focuses in the ED72, unlike the APM. Although I haven't tried anything less than 19mm yet.

I tested my Baader Zeiss 1.25" Amici against the bog-standard Baader helical and Takahashi earlier on the setting Venus-Saturn conjunction.

I expected to see the diffraction spike on the Amici, but there was no hint of it. I used a Baader Double Polariser on Venus for a bit.

So the wife bought me what she describes as "a thing" for Christmas.

ES HR Coma Corrector.

And what a thing it is. I can see this is going to take a bit of setting up and maybe some parfocal rings.

Does it throw out the focus plane a bit ?

I think the Tele-vue version works at 1.15x  ?

1.06x apparently so shouldn't see much of a difference as far as mag goes.

The lawn is not in shot Rob, the lawn is lower right behind hedge, the view is across the farmers stock field, I would need a massey ferguson to do that one I reckon 🙂 Getting a ride on mower soon, thats been an ambition of mine for years.

Theres several good observing spots for various areas of sky, Im keeping my kit portable but may put a pier in somewhere
