Whilst I was waiting for the Flaming star neb to appear above my house I decided to do this shot to show the contrast of a Nebular against the blackness of deep space.

Ok I know a bit 'arty' but I wanted to see if it would work.

The image is of the edge of the sticky out bit on the lower side of the California Neb.

Persistent banks of cloud meant I could only use half of the subs but I think it turned out rather well.

The second target for tonight was the Flaming Star Neb.

Again the clouds were a real pain but hey ho all part of the fun.

Its really poor but considering it was all but daylight when I got this at 5 30 this morning I am happy.
