Grabbed last night in the back garden. Sky was exceptionally good (well, for where I live) with the whole MW visible once dark adapted. Spend a while scanning with binos, then was treated to an extremely bright Draconid meteor. This would have been at about 10:45, heading down to the western horizon. One of the brightest I've ever seen with a nice fireball finish.

Picking a scope up next weekend - what's the chances of the skies remaining like that?...

Managed to find a Nexstar 6SE, with eyepiece kit and lots of extras at a nice price. It's in Southampton which, by lucky coincidence, is where I am going to see some old friends this weekend anyway.

That's a lovely Planetary and lunar scope, and will give a good account of the brighter DSO's. Nice one. :)
