Windows 8 OK. Surely not !

Just to let anyone know who may struggle with Windows 8 that I have now succeeded only this morning in getting both SharpCap and wxAstrocapture to run on a laptop running W8

I had a lot of trouble because I thought  W8 was the cause and nearly threw the laptop into

the black bin( :)),  but trouble was because of my not setting up the apps correctly for long exposure for an SPC900.

Also, as I had moded the SPC myself for LX I thought it might be a circuit fault too/ as well as W8.

So I was caught between a possible rocky circuit and a hard W8 place

Neither Sharp or Astro claim to run on W8 but they appear to do on my W8 laptop now......

...............I am the walking, talking, living proof of it. :D

W8 is quite 'charming' don't you think?  :)

I always use a mouse with my laptop and go straight to the W8 desktop, leaving most of the daft new fangled things behind.

Then it behaves more like SP.

Windows hate. Your'e right, with a mouse it's a pain, and trying to find where stuff is, as it's hidden; And you have to muck about skidding round the edge of the screen to find it.

In IT we have a little saying "Skip one buy one with windows" - so looking at the history of windows - xp ok, Vista - bad, 7 good, 8 bad buy the next full version.
