East Midlands Stargazers are proud to host our first Stargazing Live event in conjunction with BBC2, The Wymeswold council and Scouts.

An evening of stargazing and astronomy related exhibitions, talks and demonstrations.

There will be an opportunity to see a vast range of telescopes and other related equipment, meet and chat to owners of them and get help and advice on what to buy and how to use it. Also a demonstration of "Stellarium" a computer based simulation of the night sky, perfect for helping find your way around the thousands of stars and objects. Stellarium is a free download available here

Kids can get involved with physics based astronomy related experiments, including the marshmallow space man.

If the weather is kind and we can see the heavens there will be an opportunity to look through many of our members telescopes at various celestial objects including the planet Jupiter. And get a tour of the constellations with "Star Tours"

Refreshments available and are catered for by the Wymeswold Scout troop.

Only a few days to go now!

We have had some additional activities confirmed for younger visitors to have a go at some space related science.

Listen out on BBC Radio Leicester on the 18th at 9:40am when Kim will be interviewed live on air!

It's not looking likely to be clear but there will be plenty to see and do no matter what the weather.

See you all there!
