But did you see the fireball at 10.52pm!! Stoped for a toilet break near North Kyme and watched on headed just below Jupiter West to East! Quite a sight!!

Cheers

Well what can I say about last night?

The forecast was not looking so good but now we have the meeting hut on site at Badger Farm we do have the chance of a sit down and chat with a fresh tea or coffee (thanks Paul).

When myself and Paul first arrived there were some breaks in the cloud though the sky was hazy even in the breaks. Venus looked lovely in the ED80, a nice crescent like a miniature version of the Moon.

The Moon also was quite pleasing and whilst the hazy sky was not ideal for Astronomy it did take away some of the glare from the view through the scope.

No more observing was done for a while after this as the cloud persisted.

Later on Jupiter was poking through the clouds a bit and there was a shadow transit visible. Unfortunately again the clouds persisted and we all packed up by about 10pm.

Whilst not much observing was done, an enjoyable evening was had by all. Col has some impressive A3 laminated star charts that I think will be getting a lot of use when the sky clears.

We shall be arranging some additional observing sessions at Badge Farm, these will be in addition to our monthly meetings and details will be posted on the forum. The additional sessions may well be booked at short notice as they will be reliant on the weather.
