This is a galaxy I visit year after year and I've never been happy with the image

This time the CCD cover slip was covered in dust from dew forming on the coverslip

23 x 600s with the SXh9 and the WO132 showing the pinched optics nicely as the temp drops

Good pic Steve - I take it the slightly splurged stars are caused by the "pinching". Would that be right? I allways wondered how it manifests itself. :)

Good image Steve.

Thats exactly the same diffraction pattern that I used to get in my Orion USA 102ED doublet.That used to do the same in cold weather. at the time there was lots of questions on WO, Stellavue etc forums about it.
