I've seen her before on some of the Space / Science programing on the BBC, I can't say as I am a particular fan of her style, but I am happy that S@N has a future :)

The BBC did a couple of documentaries earlier this year with her; Do We Really Need the Moon? and In Orbit: How Satellites Rule Our World.

+1 for that, happy it is still on but not a fan of her style.

She used to do the space stuff on bbc breakfast, I will reserve my judgement for now and see how she gets on.

I'm guessing they want to start a fresh, personally I think there are far better candidates out there, but I am still just pleased that our little bit of BBC programing is being given a chance to continue.

Prof Brian Cox or Dara O'Brien would have been awesome for the task IMO but I am guessing they would want too high a wage.

The problem is they'd make it too mainstream and that would probably end S@N anyway. It was always a niche program for a niche audience.

It would bring it to the masses though and perhaps raise the profile of astronomy and research in the UK may as a result get the funding it deserves.

I should imagine the big boys wouldn't want it, who wants to be known as the guy that killed Sir Patrick's sky at night not good for the CV I would have thought?
