Here are some photos from this evening before the masses turned up; all taken without the flash so excuse the dark images and slight blurriness.

No, i didn't get to leave my room once people arrived as it too busy to leave my station unmanned. Thanks to Martyn for bringing me a brew, i was gasping!

Mods, feel free to merge this thread with rons.

Nice pictures Ron, it looks like the rest of the venue was as rammed as my room was. It would have been nice to have a walk around next time, and see the visitors engaging at the various stations. I'm sure we would have been just as busy if the event was 4 hours long, but i'd definitely have needed a break as it was constant.

So many smashing question from people who admitted they've never shown interest in astronomy before. And such clever and articulate kids!

A smashing set of pics there Ron, you got some good ones.

I have to agree with James, the kids made the night for me, I hope that that spark stays with them. They asked really well thought out questions, and enjoyed what bit of clear sky we got now and then. I reckon Jupiter will be popular for a while. :D

Just a few snaps using the phone. You can see how busy it was! I tried to get some shots of the astrophotography area too but it was so busy I turned around and gave up! :)

Great pics there James. I cannot believe the perspective with the shot of Ron at Kim's dob, somehow it's made the monster dob appear small? Not sure what's happened there?! :)

Just wanted to say thanks to all.....

We really enjoyed your informative and sociable company, topped by a view of Jupiter once the clouds had cleared.

Hope to meet you all again in the not too distant future.

Still don't know what first scope to buy as there is not one correct answer until I have decided which direction to go  :)

Lots to think about though after my visit.....

Thanks Again

Adrian
