I suspect you're right and the price will shoot up towards the end.  Had a similar thing with an Astrotrac a few weeks ago .... I tend not to suffer from 'auction fever' and set myself a limit .....  then lost it by £10

I had considered trying for this RC rather than the planned refurb on my VC200L (clean optics, full collimation, new  focuser)

But the Vixen only weighs 6kg as opposed to the 9.8kg for the RC and keeping the weight down keeps everything under the limit for my HEQ5

The VC will blow the socks off the RC for quality of image, there's nothing to touch it unless you spend around five times it's price.

I think during the summer my VC will be going back to Vixen for a full clean of the optics and re-collimation.

I've been quoted around £120 to get it done which seems pretty good considering it will be going back to Vixen in Japan to get the work done (downside is that it'll be away for a few weeks).

Will probably also get them to do the upgraded focuser at the same time.

The RC is still at £267 with 5hrs to run ... might be worth a look during the last few mins to see if there's a barging to be had.
