New telescope Sky watcher Explorer ...any opinions ?

i wouldn`t swap a 5 inch mirror for a 4 inch lens myself unless it was for imaging, but a proper imaging scope would cost alot more than that one,


if your interested in the goto version, both celestron and skywatcher do your scope with goto version, skywwatcher is cheaper also than the celestron versions.

if you want to do visual observing then how about a dobsonian telescope.

now this would be a step up, can also get these with goto but big price jump

Dobsonians are great value for observing quality - go as big as your pocket and your back will allow  :)  :)
