New Observatory to House my Mount

Seen a few people house their mounts in old bins. I decided to try a sealed container:

And this with the barrel removed and scope added:

The whole thing is sealed. Now working on a small aircon unit to remove any dew left on the mount when I put it all away. It all takes about 10 minutes to set up.

Looks great trying to work out something like that for my deck but misses wouldn't go for the blue barrel

Think of painting it observatory white......My wife thinks it looks like a secret radar station which probably puts us in someone's cross hairs somewhere........

Not sure even that would calm her something about putting a pier though deck and then a water tight cover don't think the wife will let me but yours excellent

I actually like this, as you say paint it white or green and most swimbo's couldn't complain to much

So when do you light the blue touch paper - looks like the nose cone of a satellite launcher  - you could always get the stick on vinyl which look like flowers - as per wheelie bins.
