Thinking the scope is just an expensive ornament lol

Not been out for ages with the scope, with either cloud or commitments getting in the way of having the scope out  Plus I can hardly get much detail now I knocked it over anyway :( It's looking more like an expensive ornament than a functional object :o

Sorry just had to have a moan,

Still no joy getting it collimated then?

No, I'm not really sure the laser is collimated itself, I have the red dot smack bang in the middle of the donut, and on the crosshair but it still looks fuzzy. I haven't been able to get the scope out to recheck again.....

I think of it this way

We have chosen to invest alot of time and money into a hobby which requires clear skies in a country where clear skies are a rarity so unfortunately its a fact of life that the kit isnt going to get used as much as we would like.

Just make the most of the clear nights when they do come along.

I'm glad I haven't got a nice one yet, or I'd be banging my head on the wall....

I use this time to swat up on my astro spotting skills and gear googling. (drooling).

I've really got my heart set on a 12" skywatcher Dob with GOTO.

Just got to get that mortgage to buy it. Lol.

Thinking of selling my compound bow and boat. They aren't getting too much use.

Chins up, it'll soon pass....

Hey Celeste,

The nights have been rubbish lately haven't they! :( As for your scope maybe you could get it to one of the Sawley meetings and then I'm sure some of these scope whizzes could advise you! If I'm going and you need a lift just let me know :)

Ty Melissa, i'm ok for a lift (own car) it's the getting out with Lewis (autism) he finds it hard to go out in social gatherings. Yeah the scope needs looking at by more *expert* users lol (buttering you up :) ) Maybe it's just out of collimation, I need to check my laser.

Alas I'm not a scope wizard as have only just learnt to collimate my 200P but If you want to borrow my chesire and give it a go let me know. I can pop round and we can both give it a bash together?
