My next EP

Hi All,

I suppose its a testament to just how good my Hyperion Zoom is which is the reason why I havent purchased any other eyepieces, since buying the scope back in March.

I think the time using it has shown me that my next eyepiece must be a lower magnification one. For my scope the field of view of my Zoom at 24mm is roughly 0.8 degrees - this clips quite a few of the messiers, which make identification tricky (for me).

I want something which offers a lower magnification with more of a panoramic view.

So, here we are - £150 budget and I have come across these

32MM Panaview http://www.rotherval...iece_d3649.html

35mm Aero http://www.rotherval...iece_d3130.html

32mm Meade Series 5000 http://www.rotherval...inch_d1606.html

31mm36mm Baader Aspheric http://www.firstligh...n-aspheric.html

The most expensive one is the Aero, is there a definite improvement over the Panaview?

Anyone here used an Aspheric?

What do you think?

Thanks in advance

I don't know any of those Mark - but for another £20 or so you can get a second hand Televue Panoptic 35mm in excellent condition and imho it will outperform those considerably. I never buy eyepieces new any more - just an idea :)

As above, you're into Panoptic (S/H) territory with that budget ... so long as you don't mind bricks ;) I could be wrong but I think it's a big EP.

Given the list though, the Aero wins hands down IMHO
