Ouch that looks well painful. I didn't think they would allow you to jump with a thunder storm so near. Is there no risk of being sucked upwards into the cloud or is that just a scare story

You would only be sucked up if you were under canopy at high altitude. We were falling from 13,000 feet then deploying our chutes at 3,000 feet so no danger of being sucked up from there. We all saw the storm on the horizon but the chief instructor have the nod for the load to go ahead as the storm was moving slowly-however it ended up moving pretty fast!
