It does help to be as far south as you can be.


 


From Nottingham I'm struggling with the final 12 which are pretty low down for me.

I'm about the same latitude as London, so 2.5 degrees north of Paris, so, yes, being further south than most board members is a great help. I have had great views of some of the more southern ones from places like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Chile (last but not least) but some would class that as cheating! On the other hand M31 is very difficult and M81 and M82 are invisible from there.
