Nice find Martyn,I Thought NASA would have more sense then to use W8. :D


 


Was at a conerefence where a bod from Microsoft copied Bills spout about that if the motor industry was like windows, by now a car would travel at  200 mph, use no fuel, and drive itself. Whereupon one wag shouted back 'yes and crash every three seconds killing the occupants!'

Very impressive that it's lasted so long in such a harsh environment. Let's hope they can get it up and running again for another 10 years.

Just goes to show that you wouldn't use cutting edge technology in such a situation. A friend of mine, who got me into PC building when the 486 was intel's flagship processor, said "it's ok, but you wouldn't fly a space shuttle with it".
