It has a database of nearly 40,000 objects but how many of them can i expect to be able to see with a 4" scope,I dont want to waste a lot of time looking for things that are out of range so was wondering if there is a list of objects that are within range, Also i have ordered a tal 2x barlow will this allow me to see further or just to bring in closer objects that are all ready visible.

It depends on what the database counts as an object? If stars are objects then 40,000 might be theoretically true (there are a bout 6,000 stars potentially visible to the unaided eye in total, if you include the southern hemisphere and have optimum conditions/eyes).
