First images with my new Equinox 80 and DSLR IC 5070 and IC 1318

These are my first images using my new Equinox 80 from 02/10/14 when an unexpected clear night arose.

Whilst they could do with a lot more more data and are quite noisy, these were test images to get used to using a refractor as I have only ever used a reflector in my 20 odd years in this hobby.

This scope is looking very promising and I am very happy with it :) (and I don't miss diffraction spikes either, I thought I would!)

KIT:

SW Equinox 80 APO and flattener, EQ5 Pro Synscan GOTO.

Guiding: SW 9x 50 finder guider and QHY5.

Modded Canon 600D with CLS clip filter.

Using: BYEOS, PHD, DSS, Photoshop CC.

Taken from my garden in Leicester

Thanks for looking :)

Yes a CCD is defiantly on the cards, either a mono Atik 314L+ or the 383L, I'm in no rush just yet, so will keep my eyes peeled for second hand cameras, filters etc.

can vouch for the 314L+ apart from the smaller chip size and the expense of them to buy, but the quality jump is easy to see and are so much more flexible
