De Forking a Meade LX10

Hi Guys


I want to de fork my LX10 OTA to enable me to use it on my HEQ5.


Would anyone know (or has performed this task) the procedure for de forking?


You assistance would be a great benefit

did mine LX200 8"about 10 years ago


can't quite remember the sequence but I did not had to heat it and IIRC it only took me about 30mins

put the OTA so it is parallel to the forks.


Lay it on the floor with the dec clutch facing down and remove the 4 Allen screws holding the bracket to the OTA.


You will need an imperial Allen key.


Roll the forks over so the dec clutch is facing up.


Remove the 4 Allen screws from the bracket.


Look under the dec clutch fork arm and you will see 4 large Allen bolts.


Slacken these off until the OTA will slide out.


Job done.
