UK Astro Weather Forecast

Just signed up the UK Astro Weather Forecast on Mark Thompson's website (@PeoplesAstro) - I've not seen this one before but worth checking out.

Like all weather forecast sites it will be interesting to see how accurate it is and how it compares to other sites, but it looks good and very easy to read.

It doesn't try to give an hour-by-hour forecast (which I usually find fairly unreliable) but breaks it down to 3hr blocks.

I like the inclusion of the Planetary & Deep Sky observing columns, not seen those on other sites.

When selecting your location it gives you a choice of stations, the closest one to me was in Bagworth Leicestershire, so only about 5 miles from home.

It is however lacking a 'Give me clear skies now' feature  :)

That looks very useful, thanks Alastair.

I messed up my registration though. Just tells me someone else has registered with my email address! :(

It's annoying having to keep  entering my postcode each time I log for this site.

Other forecast sites, such as Metcheck,

remember where I am and do not require me to log in either each time.

One doesn't need a forecaster for my area anyway.

I just assume cloudy each day and that's 80% accurate mostly.

Assume very cloudy and that's 100% accurate. :D

Yes I can do your forecasting for you, Al..........

Whitwick will have rain tonight with clouds.

Tomorrow it will be changeable......  clouds and rain.

Forecast for the next 10 weeks  is rain with clouds, clouds with rain, followed

by clouds with snow, snow with clouds, rain with snow and .............

Aw gee, you can do you're own forecasting now.  It's so easy  :D

That is spot-on Richard.

Don't know how you do it. Pine cones, seaweed?

We'd really appreciate a little more optimism thrown in to your forecasts, even if it means you have to lie :D :D
