hi I am asking for so ideas I have a Canon 600d camera and a Skymax synscan 127 mat cas telescope, well I cannot see anything when I put my camera onto the scope, no focus nothing. I have very slowly gone from one end of the focusing adjustment on the scope to the other and back again. I made sure all of the caps were taken off, when I took the camera from the scope and put my lens on the camera I could see things. I have taken off the star diagonal as I was told it made the distance far for the camera. What do I need to do?

You should get focus with a dslr. How bright is the object you are trying to focus on?

I recommend trying all things optically out during the day, its much easier. Sight your scope on a distant tree, chimney etc using an eyepiece with or without diagonal. Once your happy you can see the object in the eyepiece swap to the camera then slowly adjust focus.

Give yourself a chance and use a daylight subject or even the moon for the first go. Things very rarely work first time in the dark and using a faint object. The view through your viewfinder will be quite dim on m42 anyway so if its out of focus you wont see a thing until its almost in focus then its all too easy to wizz through the focus point too quickly and miss it.
