Hi guys we are having an observing meet at Gibraltar point nature reserve (Skeggy) this Sat at 6.30 pm in the south car park (visitor centre car park) Ron has kindly contacted them and we have permission to use the reserve and they will also leave the toilets unlocked for us. Everyone welcome and if you can please bring a scope with you, we also intend to discus setting up a new local astronomical society to serve the east lincs area.

It would be great to see you there from beginner to experienced observer you will be very welcome, so lets keep our fingers crossed for clear skies, although we will still be meeting even if cloudy to check out the site for future meetings plus start the planning of East Lincs Astronomical Society.

Thanks

David

On the light pollution maps readily available on the internet it looks to be situated in a good spot away from any major light pollution. Will see on Saturday.

Already decided to do this Mick! They have 6-8 Short Earred Owls active at dusk, so worth a look!

In reply to Ron's question's on another thread, North Lincs Astro meet at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust site at Far Ings, Barton. There is a charge for the use of the facilities but this is covered by a small charge for members on meeting nights.

The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has been very supportive at Far Ings and to Astronomy in general by hosting Paul Money's Star nights at various sites through the year.
