Focus reducer

hi, I'm thinking of purchasing a focus reducer as I have read that having one should help with the quality oh my astro pics. Which one and where, I have a Canon 600d camera which I sometimes use from my tripod, also my scope is a Skywatch skymax 127 that I also use my camera on. If it is a part cloudy night I use the tripod and for ( when we get them) viewing sessions I use the scope. So, is there a reducer that I can use in both instances? If so which one? Also would I need to purchase anything else?

Thanks for any replies and help.
