Ok, these are from a few weeks back. Data collected on a windy night up at Belper.

In the end I chose to focus on just a few subs to keep the ratio of lights to darks down. These also show a few different ways of stacking the comet with some of these images having post processing.

Comet Lovejoy C/2014 Q2

5 best lights 93s ISO800 subs.
Stacked on comet and stars in DSS

9 darks

33 flats

33 Bias

Processed in CS2

Lovejoy with star trails

All 93s exposures totalling 18 mins 15s of lights. Stacked on comet only hence with star trails no processing. Unprocessed to show output from DSS

Lovejoy no stars unprocessed

All 93s exposures totalling 18 mins 15s of lights. Stacked on comet only but with Sigma Clipping. Unprocessed to show output from DSS

Finally Stacked on Stars only but limited to best 4x 93s subs (with darks etc as above) Comet trails slightly in the version but not noticeable really after stretching the image.

Have really struggled with trying to get the best out of this data lightly to call it quits for now!

Comments welcome,
