Planetary nebula resource

Tweedledee

Recommended Posts

This is a good resource in .pdf format for observing all the brightest planetary nebulae.

It has lots of useful info and location maps. It has very nice sketches of each one, as seen, in most cases, using a 120mm refractor.

There is a black version and a white version. I prefer looking at the black version since the sketches have the colours inverted so it is just like looking through an eyepiece, with white stars on a black sky.

Black version...

Thanks, I thought some EMSers who use eyepieces might like it :) .

That's fantastic. Thanks for sharing Pete :) Black version saved to favourites [emoji106]

The Planeta should show these up nicely as they usually take high power well, and at over 4.5 metres focal length you'll get high powers without looking through pinhole eyepieces, and have excellent light gathering power as well :) .

If you enjoy seeing sketches, have a look at these in Micks (Docs) gallery, they are brilliant  ...

Let's hope so Pete-I'm still battling with collimation, will probably end up driving it to Altair so they can sort it for me, have been working on it a lot but not sure now if the truss geometry is out. I know for sure once it is collimated properly it will deliver some outstanding results.

Also Ive had to send the pillar and mount back to FLO as the central bolt hole on the mount heads thread was badly damaged and damaged the central bolt on the tripod meaning it couldn't be removed and also all the bolt holes on the pillar adapter plate had damaged threads too and the powder coating was chopped off in a couple of places. FLO have been outstanding and arranged for collection and return of the affected items the day after I phoned. Brilliant customer service.

Soon I'll be back in business and continuing with the build. I need to make some significant modifications to the build-mainly reduce its height and then just adjust the park position to a lower profile to accommodate. I'll get there eventually :)

Not sure that link you posted was correct though Pete-lol!

These projects never go smoothly, but I know you'll have it all perfect soon :)

All the links work fine for me

The link takes me to a thread about funny videos-the first one being the famous master chef remix "buttery biscuit base" [emoji4]

The link I mean is the one where you say "if you like sketches, check out Micks gallery....." That link takes me to this......

It works for me.

I think Felix is pulling your leg Pete.

Cheers Mick. :)

Well, I like crunchy biscuit bases, so I hope Felix posts an actual working link to this sketch. :P

I'm being completely serious. My guess then is that it is a tapatalk problem if you are both accessing the forum from computers??
