My thoughts

Pick a date

Pick a site

and if we can come we will

if nobody signs up its not going to happen despite the hard work done in the background

Makes sense. I work shifts, as do others I guess, choose a date and venue, go from there I guess.

If the date suits I'd make the trip south [emoji3] I've not been about much but I'm still around :)

We think we have found a site that is not only willing to host us, but is enthusiastic about holding this event. It is darker than Belper, and may be getting on a par with Kelling.

The site is on the North York Moors. It is around two - three hours travelling, depending on if you are towing or not. The majority of the way it is via motorway and the A1, with maybe fifteen mile to the west of the A1 at the end.

If we get the numbers, we can have the entire site, with lights off, or bagged as at Kelling. The site has excellent reviews on UK campsite and to be honest I don't think we could find a better site. They are open to this becoming an annual event as well.

It is £17.00 a night, which would include two adults and EHU, with a fifty percent deposit required. Dogs are welcome. There are twenty pitches that have EHU and allocation would be on a first come first served basis.

We are looking at it being held on the weekend 9th,10th of October 2015.

I could do with knowing how many of you are interested so that I can feed numbers back to the site. For those such as Doc and Phil, there are two camping pods, which although a bit more money would suit their medical conditions.

This is the site we have been looking at and talking with.

Here's a light pollution map to have a look round.

Post up if you are interested, as the sooner we know how many would attend, the better the chances of having the entire site. I hope that it meets with your approval.

We wouldn't be able to make it unfortunately - but it does look great nice site.

Shame Anderby didn't work out - cos it was great apart from the fishing and the management lol.

I would only be able to do it if I could book a pod.

You have the first one Phil as long as they have not been booked.

Once we have a few more who have confirmed we will speak to the owners and set up booking.

I have just spoken to the site regarding the offer they have on UK Campsite forum. That is a three for price of two nights. Unfortunately, this does not include Friday or Saturday nights. However if anyone wanted to go Wednesday and come back Monday then a "free" night would apply.

There is a pub within walking distance, the Crown at Lofthouse, which serves excellent food with generous portions.

For other food, How Stean Gorge is nearby and has a restaurant which serves breakfast from 10 am.

If anyone has any questions, please let me know.

I have booked as per Martyn's instructions on his EMS 4 booking thread (Pitch 10).
