COCOON NEB From tonight 26.04.2013

Recommended Posts

I decided to try something completely different tonight.

First attempt at the Cocoon Neb.

I did a quick mod to my set up this afternoon by gluing my LP / IR EOS Clip filter into the front of the T Ring adapter.

The difference it has made is amazing.

In my excitement I forgot to take the flats but I think it turned out alright.

Helios 200 Newt.

Atik 314 L

27 x 300 second subs.

21 Bias frames.

Stacked in DSS.

Quick polish up in PS 6.

Close up.

nice one Graham,

after your reply to my post, wasn't sure you'd get the expo time...you nailed it. new target for me...

interesting mod... how did you keep the filter square to the t ring adapter?

I glued it to the inside face.

The filter is bigger than the aperture so it stuck to the face thus keeping it square to the light train.

Really nice image Graham, a lot of detail in there. Great result from a Helios Newt. There is hope for me yet! :D
