Well thanks to Steve I can finally use the 916 with Maxim.


 


It was a mad rush after getting home from work.


Had to grab this between the clouds so the focus is a bit soft.

It was all done in a rush what with the clouds and the fact that the sun was disappearing below the tree line.

 

Nice start. Can I ask why you use the Ha filter?

 

I have no idea Mike it just seems the logical thing to use seeing the sun is HA

Ah, I see.... Whilst that is true, a normal imaging Ha filter has a bandpass of 7nm whereas a Ha solar scope has a bandpass of 0.07nm or less. To be honest using a Ha filter for solar is likely to cause you more issues than it is worth since it is 100 times wider bandpass than you need to pull any more detail. I'd have a go without and see if it makes focusing a bit easier for you :)
