DSLR mod for PST

Graham

Recommended Posts

This is for the folks who wanted to know how I was going to attach my DSLR to the PST.

As you will see in the Picture I have machined an adapter up that fits into the T- Ring and goes over the top of the Tubes holding the ERF and the Blocking filter.

As the Tubes are smaller in diameter than the EP holder the adapter is fitted by unscrewing the Blocking filter part of the tube Placing the adapter over the lower half containing the ERF and then the Filter part is then screwed back into place inside the adapter.

The adapter is locked in place by three M4 grub screws.

The EP holder is flush with the inside face of the T - Ring so is inside the DSLR.

Well after a load more machining to gain focus I managed to get over 100 pictures of the sun today.

Shame I forgot to set a capture folder in BYE  :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:

Never mind another day tomorrow.

Roll on the dark nights DSO imaging is a piece of cake compared to this Solar lark
