Telrad finder. How do you mount yours?

Having looked at petes rather fancy set-up and my Telrad on its way in the post I'm thinking - "how the h*ll do I mount this thing" ?

I can just stick it using adhesive tape, or maybe invest in a dove tail bar or similar.

I'm looking for most ergonomic method of fitting that at the same time will not look silly or wreck the top spec lead paint on the tube lol

Well I have a tak and mine is stuck on with the normal telrad base

and looks fine and works a treat :)

Mine sits on my alt-az mount not my scope.

Theres a 90deg bracket on the altitude axis, which bolts on to the base of a 2 inch riser. (needed to clear the saddle tightening knobs)

Maybe a bit precarious but works well.

It's definitely worth considering, that way I don't ruin the aesthetics of the scope.

I don't know, I'm 50/50 on the Telrads appearance, I'm sure it will look less obvious after a few months, but wish they made a 'sawn off' version lol I'm guessing that the upright version with the side mounted battery pack? Looks unfinished :/

Maybe I'm thinking too much about it haha

I think you mean one of these: http://www.firstlightoptics.com/finders/rigel-quikfinder-compact-reflex-sight.html

They're great if you need the sight placed above something like an optical finder or other equipment - but essentially do the same job. :)

That's the one. It's like they forgot about a power source and then retro fitted the battery housing later.

It looks to be popular though, so appearance isn't everything it seems.

How about the Baader Skysurfer 5, I have one it's the best red dot finder I've used apart from maybe the telrad.

It's built completely from aluminium and the red dot does not wander.

I think for me, I'm going to retain the original 6x30 spotting scope, maybe replace it for a more modern version and run it along side the telrad.

I'm on the look out for a vintage C90 too, seen a few on eBay recently but waiting until I save a bit more money; so to get a better example.
