Popular Post +Graham Posted July 23, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) After two evenings of blood sweat and much cursing the new Obs is in its new home. I did not realise just how well I had built my old split roof Obs. It was a nightmare to dismantle. I had made it from a steel box tubed frame that I had welded together in situe. It was a case of taking a 9 inch angle grinder to it in the end just to get it down. Then came the real fun --- Putting one of these things up on your own. After much swearing and bleeding ( these fibre glass panels are bloody sharp in places. ) I managed to assemble the base panels. Then came the really painful bit and that was putting the dome on top of it by myself. With a bit of basic Physics and some shear brute force I managed to get the dome up and over the base and sitting on it wheels. Just got to level it up and concrete it in to position. Run the electrics. Put the mount back on the pier and I am back in business. In closing let me offer a piece of advice to anyone else who is going to be putting one of these up -- GET SOME HELP !!!!!!
