As Paul says it's a good combination for observing only - but it did take a few seconds to stop vibrating and needed a very steady hand tracking manually or focusing. philjay Posted March 14, 2012 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Ive had a couple of these and indeed still have one which I use as grab & go. They are a good starter mount and cant fault them for visual if you dont overload them. They tend to be let down by the tripodsthough The older ali tubed tripods which they used to come with are awful and should be changed as soon as possible but the steel tubed tripods are a little better but still leave something to be desired. I actually started imaging with my 1st EQ3 doing unguided. I mapped the RA worm periodic error which was rather eccentric but I could get about 5 unguided 1 minute subs with my ST120 and 350d before the PE swung.
