Maybe a teeny weeny bit out of focus, but still a very nice image.

I agree. This was one of the very first images i took when i had my old scope, which was also my very first "proper" scope, so i was quite pleased with the outcome at the time.

Does your 70D have a 'focus peaking' setting, if you want to use 3rd party lenses etc ?

 

I've found this feature to be invaluable with my Sony when prime focus imaging.

That's not a bad first image, it has a good depth to it. I would have been chuffed with it. If you don't make mistakes, you don't get experience.

i actually made a mistake. it wasn't a 120 i had, it was a SW explorer 130P. 650mm f/5
