NGC 2175 in HA

This is the first chance I have had to try out the 414 after getting it back from Atik.

What a difference.

This is 2 hours worth of 600 second subs.

Captured and stacked in Maxim.

Very quick touch up in PS 6.

That looks superb Graham :2thumbsup:

Thanks Pete.

Its amazing the difference that having the electronics in the camera set up properly makes.

Thank you kindly folks.

I think I might just get on with this 414 now :)

Your ngc2175 is certainly an unusual target a bit off the beaten track and probably a first on EMS. You've done a brilliant job on something a bit different.

Looking forward to seeing some more with that 414 :2thumbsup:

coming along, more data more data more data

try some S11 if you have the filter

and careful with the black point I think you have lost a bit of the background faint stuff

Thanks Steve.

I do have an SII filter so will do some of that as well.

Need to find a better way of saving the image after stacking in maxim.

I leave the screen stretch on manual but it seems to clip the black end for some reason.

Gorgeous picture Graham, very crisp, very dark contrasty background too. Great detail. Well done the Atik etc is brill...

Same as Pete (Tweedledee), I looked this up to find out a bit more about it.

NGC 2175 is a bright emission neb, but surprisingly to me it is not shown well in Sky Safari 4 pro, or even shown well in my interstellarum sky atlas - it is shown as adjacent to NGC 2174! I had to look on the web to find out more about this little stunner! So another new one for me.

Great job Graham!

Nice Graham, how did you know there was a problem with the camera in the first place ?

The 414 is amazing at capturing ha detail.
