That looks spectacular and more detailed than the coloured pics of it :thumbsup:

 

The star illuminating the Nebula at the bottom is AE Auriga which was ejected from the Trapezium cluster in Orion after a near collision with another star 2.5 million years ago. The other star is Mu Columbae 65 degrees south. The two stars are travelling in opposite directions at 100 km/sec. AE is actually tearing through the nebula travelling north which is downwards in the above pic.

Fabulous image Steve!

Stunning amount of detail and the bright background stars and inky black space contrast well with the emission/reflection nebula.

I did a reprocess its a bit smoother

no calibration frame were used in the making of this image
